Uttarakhand: The Uttarakhand government, through the Uttarakhand Housing Development Board and MDDA, is set to construct approximately 16,000 affordable homes for economically weaker sections by March 2025.
The Uttarakhand Housing Development Board (UHDB) and the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) are working on 15 housing projects, which will provide a total of 12,856 homes. Additionally, MDDA is developing three projects in Dehradun, comprising 704 flats.
Beneficiaries will receive homes costing around ₹6 lakh, with central and state government subsidies covering ₹3.5 lakh, making the homes affordable at ₹2.5 lakh. The projects are expected to be completed by March 2025.
This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to provide every family with a pucca house by 2022, and the state government’s efforts are a significant step towards achieving this goal.
